Just a reminder: there is no school for students tomorrow, Friday, Oct. 11, due to a staff Professional Learning Day. Our team will continue training on new curriculum, setting goals to support students, and collaborating on lesson planning. See you Monday!

Kindergarteners in Mr. Max’s art class got some hands-on experience with pumpkins seeds. Their reactions were precious! The students also guessed how many seeds were in a handful and got to count them. They later sampled roasted pumpkin seeds, which proved to be a big hit! #pumpkinseason #handsonlearning #PumpkinSeeds

Our Orca Girls JV and Varsity Volleyball teams both did a great job taking on McCleary. We are proud of you! Keep up the terrific work! #volleyball #bumpsetspike #SchoolSports #GoOrcas

Here are some terrific moments from our recent BOOTS outdoor education program trip to Mt. Elinor. It was a great experience with lots of challenge and lots of laughter. Seeing students achieve something they didn't believe possible is the best part. They will be carrying that with them forward not just in thinking about the outdoors, but about academic and life experiences as well. #outdooreducation #hikingadventures Mt. It was a great night for football at Hood Canal as our boys took on St. Mikes. There were some great plays and lots of action for the enthusiastic crowd. Next up, they take on Grapeview away on Oct. 8 and we have two more home games after that. Great job, Orcas! #flagfootball #schoolsports

Our varsity and JV Orca Girls Volleyball teams put up a strong fight against St. Mike’s last night. Thursday, they’ll be taking on McCleary away. We are super proud of you! Go Orcas! #volleyball #schoolsports #athletics

Sven-Erik Spichiger, Hood Canal Parent and Pest Program Manager for the WSDA, brought his incredible insect collection to our school and shared his vast knowledge and experience fighting invasive pests with our 7th and 8th grade students. The students were fascinated by all of the variety of insects and by Mr. Spichiger's strategies for eradicating pests that threaten local agriculture.
