This week in STEAM class, students learned about and created ocean habitats, marine animal calm down bottles, and ocean slime. More great hands-on learning!

Students in our summer school art program with Mr. Max have been applying their new painting skills on a beautiful mural wrapping one of our school storage sheds and creating other art like a fantastic piece using multiple layers of paint and ferns. Pretty impressive! #muralpainting #artproject #studentart

In our summer school STEAM class, students are applying engineering and design concepts as they create their own full scale vehicles and play structures. They constructed bridges to see whose bridge will hold the most weight and then built these lifesize projects that, as you can see, the kids loved using and playing with after they made them. Terrific learning in action! #handsonlearning #kidsactivities #engineering

Students in Ms. Gouleyโs 5th grade wrapped up the year by reading the book, โSadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes.โ As they were reading, they set a goal to actually fold 1,000 paper cranes AND succeeded after folding their 1,000th paper crane the last week of school. The results were stunning and the activity truly bonded the class. The cranes were all sizes including a jumbo crane made by combining multiple pieces a paper.
