Get ready for a week of creativity, fun, and Orca pride! Hood Canal School will celebrate Fall Spirit Week from October 26–30, with a different dress-up theme each day.
This year's Spirit Week was planned by our ASB Student Leadership Team, under the guidance of advisor Heather Akiyama. A big thank-you to our student leaders and Heather for their creativity and hard work in organizing a fun week for our school community!

Halloween Costume Guidelines for Friday, October 30
As Halloween approaches, we want to make sure students can enjoy the festivities while keeping our school safe and focused on learning.
Friday, October 30, is a regular school day, and dressing up is optional. Students who choose to wear costumes should follow these guidelines:
Shoes: Students must wear regular school shoes. Heels are not permitted.
Blood and Gore: Costumes may not include blood or gore.
Weapons: No costume weapons are allowed, including toy guns, swords, or daggers. Wands are permitted but may be taken away if they become a distraction.
Masks: Masks are not allowed because staff must be able to identify students. Costume makeup is permitted.
Bathroom Independence: Costumes must allow students to use the restroom independently without assistance from a teacher.
Dress Code: All costumes must follow the district's dress code policy, which is outlined in the student handbook distributed during conferences.
Capes: Capes are allowed but must be short enough to prevent tripping hazards.
We encourage families to consider comfort and practicality when helping students choose their costumes. Students should be able to participate fully in classroom activities, recess, and other parts of the school day.
Thank you, families, for helping us make Spirit Week a safe, positive, and memorable experience for everyone.
We can't wait to see our Orcas show their school spirit!
