Invitation to Bid
The Hood Canal School District is soliciting sealed bids from qualified contractors for the Hood Canal School District Modernization and Transportation Building Project.
Bid Due Date and Submission
Sealed bids must be received no later than 2:00 p.m. on July 14, 2026.

Project Overview
This project includes approximately $15 million in construction and consists of:
Classroom additions
Library additions
Selective modernization of the existing K–8 facility
New transportation facility
Site improvements
Related construction and infrastructure work
Bid Documents
Bid proposals shall be submitted in accordance with the Bidding Requirements and Contract Documents prepared by Bassetti Architects, dated June 12, 2026.

Pre-Bid Walkthrough
A pre-bid walkthrough will be held:
Thursday, June 25, 2026 at 2:00 p.m.

Attendance is strongly encouraged but not required.
Bid Security Requirements
Bid proposals must be submitted on forms furnished by the Architect and accompanied by bid security in the amount of five percent (5%) of the bid amount in the form of:
Bid Bond
Cashier's Check
Certified Check
The successful bidder will be required to execute a formal contract with the District and provide the required Performance and Payment Bonds.
Subcontractor Listing Requirements
In accordance with RCW 39.30.060, bidders must submit subcontractor listings with their bid for:
Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC)
Plumbing
Electrical
Because this project exceeds $1 million, bidders must also identify subcontractors for:
Structural Steel Installation
Rebar Installation
Failure to provide required subcontractor information at the time of bid submission will render the bid non-responsive.
Prevailing Wage and Apprenticeship Requirements
This project is subject to Washington State prevailing wage requirements under Chapter 39.12 RCW. Bidders must comply with all contractor responsibility requirements of RCW 39.04.350.
A minimum of 15% apprentice labor hours of total labor hours is required for this project.
