Hood Canal Education Foundation(HCEF) Website

In 2009 Hood Canal Education Foundation was founded to meet the "extra" needs of our unique school. Some of our community partners are Tacoma Power, Owly's of Hoodsport, Skokomish Indian Nation, Hood Canal Kiwanis Club, Alderbrook Golf Club, Potlatch Beach Partnership, The Community Foundation, Lilliwaup Community Club, Hood Canal IGA, Hama Hama Company, Ferrellgas, Hood Canal Communications, Squaxin Indian Nation, Lake Cushman Booster Club, Alderbrook Resort, Hood Canal Lions Club, Lake Cushman Golf Club.

Some of our projects:
A WiFi Weather Bug weather station
30 laptops on a rolling charge cart
Pre-school play area
Outdoor Digital sign
Sound proofing for the gym
Wireless speakers and headsets for the new sound system Student field trips and art projects

A four year project has culminated in a new, state of the art all-weather track and grass field. HCEF did the preliminary work on a $250,000 grant from RCO (Washington State Office of Recreation and Conservation) that helped pay for the new facility.

Our funds are raised through direct donation, grants and from the generous yearly donation from Hama Hama Company's OysterRama. This year's seafood festival is May 7th!

Our support base includes a wide range of local business entities, community volunteers, school faculty, staff and students.

Our next initiative is to renovate our two playfields. We propose a grass football field with a composite track. The other field would be leveled and seeded for a safe, all- purpose outdoor play area. Both fields need drainage issues fixed.

HCEF meets the 2nd Monday of the month at 3:15 at Hood Canal School and the current officers are President-Roslynne Reed, Vice President-Teddie Hamby, Treasurer- Becky Purvis, Secretary-Annie Robbins.
